Shinshu Mars distillery 信州マルス蒸留所 is a Japanese whisky distillery located in Japan’s Alps, it is owned by Hombo Shuzo a Japanese "shōchū" maker based in Kagoshima Prefecture, The Hombo family have been distilling for more than a century and started whisky in 1949.

They now age spirits from both Shinshu and Tsunuki distilleries in Yakushima, a National World Heritage site.

This single malt was distilled at Mars Shinshu in 1989 and matured in an American White Oak cask for 23 years before bottling in 2012.
